'most media texts target a range of different audiences' how true is this for your chosen texts?
The american television series "Madmen" set in the 1960's has shown a range of different audiences, using the uses and gratifications in the episode "The other woman" i found the main audience age range was from 40-60 as it appealed more to them, taking more of a personal identity towards the characters. People who experienced the madmen life style would see drinking and smoking in the work place and using the women as objects as acceptable, taking a preferred reading and being entertained by the story line ( escapism from this fast pasted life style today), where as the younger generation particularly women would use the oppersitional reading with the way joan has been represented with the sex for money, many women may have had a connection with the character Peggy with her strong willed personality, and attitude to work (personal identity with the character).

Adele On Weight In Rolling Stone: 'Don't Have Time To Worry'
Don't bother Adele with questions about her weight. She has Grammys to win.
The British pop star covers the new issue of Rolling Stone, opening up about both her music and all the questions about her weight. She also talks about her difficulty performing in front of audiences.
"I'm scared of audiences," she tells the magazine. "One show in Amsterdam I was so nervous I escaped out the fire exit. I've thrown up a couple of times. Once in Brussels I projectile vomited on someone. I just gotta bear it. But I don't like touring. I have anxiety attacks a lot."

Rihanna Covers Rolling Stone: Wearing Spray On Shorts, Talks Loving Real S&M Sex.
To Rihanna, S&M isn't just a hit song.
The star covers the new issue of Rolling Stone, wearing spray-on shorts and giving the magazine an inside look at some of her more dirty habits.
"I like to take charge, but I love to be submissive," she tells the magazine. "Being submissive in the bedroom is really fun. You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge of your s**t. That's sexy to me. I work a lot, and I have to make a lot of executive decisions, so when it comes to being intimate, I like to feel like I'm somebody's girl."
